New to the ride?

The Cap2Cap is the annual bike ride fundraiser for the Virginia Capital Trail Foundation, and this year we’re celebrating our 21st ride! Come ride, have fun, and support the Trail that brings us all together.

The event features four distance options: Margie’s Century (100 miles), Meta Half Century (50 miles), Allianz Quarter Century (25 miles), and the Riverside Health 7-mile Family Fun Ride - plus a 2-day challenge and the CSX Virtual options, all along the scenic and historic Virginia Capital Trail.

Fully supported course? Check. Party zones? Of course! Rest stops, specialty snacks, cheering volunteers, and an incredible cycling community? Absolutely. And on top of that, you’ll ride through breathtaking scenery, from forest canopies and river views to rich farmlands, exploring more than 400 years of history.

The 2026 Genworth | CareScout Cap2Cap presented by Dominion Energy features an Open-Start format, meaning you can start and finish whenever and wherever you like to ride along the Virginia Capital Trail.  Not sure where to start? Check out these suggested routes!

Enjoy the Party Zones at Chickahominy Riverfront Park on Friday, May 8th, and Dorey Park on Saturday, May 9th. Riders will be supported by six Rest Stops over the 51.7-mile Trail and will receive a Cap2Cap t-shirt and SWAG, lunch, a beverage ticket, and more!

Besides the incredible community and ride-day support, one of the awesome things about Cap2Cap is the flexibility - you can start anytime and anywhere along the Virginia Capital Trail!
PLUS enjoy course support (REST STOPS, WATER & FOOD, BIKE TECH, SAG, & MEDICAL) from 8 am to 4 pm.

Refunds, deferrals, and transfers are not allowed for this event.  Cap2Cap happens rain or shine.  In case of severe weather or a local/state/national emergency, VCTF reserves the right to cancel/alter/modify the event for safety concerns.  We do not refund event fees, defer registration to another year, or transfer registration to other riders.  In the unlikely case a ride is cancelled or you are not able to attend, please contact VCTF to claim your registration fee as a tax-deductible donation.
