Cat Anthony: Executive Director

Cat Anthony has been the Executive Director of the Virginia Capital Trail Foundation since October of 2017.  Cat is from the great City of Richmond and has loved seeing the transformation of Richmond over the years.  She graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a double major in Psychology and Religious Studies.  After graduating from VCU, she worked in outdoor recreation and wilderness therapy throughout the United States.  She has had many adventures in her work experience, from guiding seven-week expeditions in Alaska to leading rock climbing trips in New Mexico. Cat has also worked in Richmond based nonprofits like Blue Sky Fund taking youth into the outdoors and also Sportable, a Paralympic Sports Club, in both operations and fundraising. Cat has over thirteen years of experience in nonprofit management and is excited to be the Executive Director of the Capital Trail.  When she is not playing on the Capital Trail, she loves traveling to exotic places, drinking too much coffee, and cooking up a storm.

kenzie Cocherell: Program and Trail manager

Kenzie grew up in Woodbridge, Virginia before moving to Richmond in 2017 to attend Virginia Commonwealth University. She was introduced to the James River Park System through a group of friends in school and quickly fell in love with outdoor adventures such as rafting, whitewater kayaking, and mountain biking. She and a friend rode their first “century” on the Capital Trail in the weeks following graduation and she fell in love with the Trail!

Since graduating with a B.A. in English, Mackenzie has worked with Riverside Outfitters at their summer camp and afterschool programs, as well as joining Blue Sky Fund as a program instructor and office coordinator. When she isn't at VCTF, you can often find her playing gaga ball or biking around the city with her friends!

CYNDEE DRAGOO: communications & development manager

Cyndee is the Communications and Development Manager for the Virginia Capital Trail Foundation. Originally from the West Coast, Cyndee moved to Henrico County in the fall of 2004 with her family. An outdoor enthusiast, she immediately fell in love with Virginia’s remarkably diverse landscapes and rich history. She has worked in the nonprofit field for over 10 years and is thrilled for the opportunity to showcase and advance one of Virginia’s greatest outdoor resources, the Virginia Capital Trail.

In her free time, Cyndee enjoys running (especially in the cool fall weather), sampling her husband's latest cooking experiment, and forging new outdoor experiences with her family and dog, Mya.

"VCTF is an exciting and engaging place to work. I'm happy to be part of a team that helps build connections in the community."
