The construction of Charles City's Market 5, located at MM 20, is underway.
”The Market 5 project will be the first of its kind in Virginia that will utilize shipping containers as retail space and cooking facilities. The project is expected to launch additional economic development in Charles City.”
Lighting Installation Planned for December near mm 51 (Rocketts Landing)
Beginning in December, self-sustaining lighting will be installed along the Capital Trail throughout the Rocketts Landing area (between MM 50 - MM 51) for increased pedestrian safety. This installation may include workers and equipment on or near the Trail. Please use caution when proceeding through the area.
bridge deck work scheduled for early 2025
The bridge deck just west of MM 3 is scheduled to get an epoxy overlay. The estimated timeframe is Jan/Feb 2025.
